Imagine the mid 1920’s: the sounds of a busy milking barn, acres of farm land. A dream was in the making; Robert White a famed Scottish architect, walked the rolling hills of Scotts Mountain envisioning what he would build and would become known as Harkers Hollow Golf & Country Club.
Mr. White, well known for his architecture and designs was contracted to design and construct Harkers Hollow which was founded in September of 1929. Mr. White was also the architect for other notable clubs such as Manasquan River Golf Club and many more. He was also the founder of The Golf Course Architect Association, and served as the first president of the United States Professional Golf Association of America when it was founded in 1916 and served until 1920.
